The CEB Program combines theories and applications that come from state-of-the-art scientific studies on emotions, reinforced by the insight and the most effective practices offered by the Buddhist stochastic tradition.
What Is CEB Program in short
CEB (Cultivating Emotional Balance) is an innovative Educational Program designed to teach participants a series of behavioral skills inspired by Western Psychology and Buddhist Philosophical Traditions.
The purpose of these skills is to develop more positive and creative emotions. Thanks to these, the participant can effectively cope with the chronic discomfort caused by the excessive rhythms of modern living, creating favorable conditions for a lasting sense of authentic well-being and authentic creative strength.
History of CEB
The idea of CEB was born at the Mind & Life Conference in Dharamsala, India in 2000. The subject of this conference, which included neuroscientists, philosophers and Buddhist monks under the auspices of the 14th Dalai Lama was "Catastrophic Emotions".
The combination of these methods allows the identification of disastrous emotions manifested in humans and helps to limit the damage they can cause to human behavior in order to gradually reduce their intensity and incidence.
The CEB is designed more to enhance personal development rather than as a therapeutic tool. It investigates and seeks to apply models of excellent mental health (genuine-inner joy) in achieving equilibrium in four key areas of human behavior and psychology:
Concentration of attention (increasing the quality of my attention and consciousness).
Emotional Function (I understand how emotions are manifested, I recognize the dangerous stimuli that activate them).
Cognitive function (I develop skills to self-detect and track my emotions, my desires and my intentions).
Volition Function (controlling, realizing and managing my impulses that engage me emotionally, I release myself from this devastating emotional commitment).
Goals of CEB Program
The top priority of the program is to guide participants enhancing their mental health and well-being.
The long-term ambition of the Program is that the methods it contains, if proven to be effective, can be adapted within the classroom, where they can benefit the modern educational system.
CEB includes a wide range of exercises and lessons to increase awareness of emotional life and, more generally, the development of emotional management skills (eg, the ability to identify, identify, diminish and translate negative emotions).
More specifically:
Growing Emotional Balance means making a choice
if and when I need to engage emotionally in one situation
if I finally get involved, to choose exactly how this will be done
to allow my feelings to work for me and not against me
to guide my feelings in order to be constructive and not destructive to me, in such a way that mankind as well as myself can benefit at the individual level, or at least not to be harmful to me or to the others.
At the end of the program, others around me will realize that something essential to my behavior has changed.
Of course the Program is only the beginning of the path. I will need to apply the exercises I learned at the CEB on a daily and steady basis.
